support engineer

We are currently working with a small central IT Support and Systems specialist who are seeking an Support Engineer who is looking to take on 1st and 2nd  Line Support duties as well as having the opportunity and training over time to move into a role with Senior responsibilities and work toward the successful development of a IT Support & Services division. The role will mainly operate at 1st to 2nd line with occasional 3th line support. This is a fantastic opportunity for an Engineer looking to progress.

You will be a well-rounded support engineer with experience working across project managing tasks as well as being hands on remotely and on client sites. Tasks will include deploy and maintain Networking and Firewall solutions, initial setup of networking hardware including Ubiquiti and Draytek vendors, including WiFi, Integrating VPN solutions, including site to site and dial-in and Implementing IT Projects such as data migrations and cloud adoption. Applicants will have a great commercial awareness with awareness of IT security principles and objectives and any experience of installing and Configuring VoIP Telephony instances (3CX) would be highly desirable

Technical Expertise across:

  • Windows desktop operating systems (knowledge of Mac and Linux devices and operating systems is also desirable)
  • Hyper V or VMWare Virtualisation
  • Office 365 Exchange
  • Windows Server OS,
  • AD and AD policies
  • Network services such as DNS / DHCP and a solid understanding of TCP/IP
  • Microsoft Office 2013 and 2016
  • Microsoft Teams
  • Scripting in Powershell or other
  • Utilising API integrations
  • Disaster recovery principles and techniques
  • Telephone System principles such as Queues, DDI’s and SIP Trunks
