Software Engineer – Contract 6 Months

polkadotfrog are currently seeking a Software Engineer for a growing organisation specialising in Network tools and Software based near Papworth Everard. This new position will be accountable for the successful design, installation, testing and maintenance of software systems to support our clients product portfolio.

The new Software Engineer will be joining a small international team where you shall singular and collaboratively review current systems in terms of capability and issue resolution and develop new software features according to agreed specifications and quality guidelines. You shall have the ability and ideally commercial experience leading project teams to develop new technology products including project management, reporting, issue and risk identification and people / resource management. Applicants will have experience working alone and within a team where you have evaluated work undertaken by other project team members and provide an opinion when required as well as enhance or correct defects where appropriate. The initial project is a brand new piece of work and will be working with integration and shared systems where you will play a key role in the initial development stages.

The successful candidate will ideally have an educational background in Mathematics or Software Engineering with hands on experience of multiple programme languages but with a proven strength in C#. You will have a sound knowledge of computer algorithms and be a keen trouble-shooter with a keen interest in Wireless products or technology

Knowledge & Skills Required:


·Educated to degree level or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics or in a related subject.

·Proven expert in multiple programming languages, including C#

·Sound knowledge and understanding of computer algorithms

·Proven ability to develop software for wireless products that meet consumer needs or solve business problems

·Familiar with more than one software development methodology.

·Ability to articulate ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences

·Exceptionally self-motivated and directed

·Keen attention to detail

·Excellent analytical, evaluative, and problem-solving abilities.
