 Inspection Services Manager

This is an integral role within a well-established and successful company reporting director to the Registration Services Director.

The priority of the role is to manage a well-known certification scheme within the oil and renewable heating industry ensuring that competence, compliance and performance are of the highest standard.  You will be primarily office based looking after 13 field based inspectors and 2 office based administrators.  The position will require some travel throughout the UK and Ireland, including some occasional overnight stays.  A pool car is provided as well as any flights/accommodation etc. as necessary.

An autonomous role which would be ideal for someone who has been ‘on the tools’ themselves and who is now looking for a change into an office based position.

What we’re looking for:

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience of working withing the oil and gas industry.  As a manager of a field team you will be expected to oversee and provide advice and guidance when required, therefore an in depth knowledge of the industry is essential.  Part of your role will be carrying out inspections of your engineers work which may entail attending appointments at customers premises, therefore excellent interpersonal skills are essential.

The day to day responsibilities are as follows:

Day to day management of the inspection team

Assist administrators with escalated queries

Control the department budget and authorise payments to any subcontractors

Coordination of regular team meetings

Recruitment, induction and training of new inspectors

Carry out random audits and inspections and providing feedback where required

Knowledge of the oil and renewable energy sector is essential
