1st line technical support.

 

the role.

Joining a small team of engineers, you will provide front line technical support to your customers by effectively operating the helpdesk.  General day to day duties will be to configure and install customer server and desktop environments in the workshops, at customer premises or cloud based.  You will record any concerns raised by clients and use your technical skills to resolve any issues they have in a polite and courteous manner.  As you are the face of the company you are a true ambassador therefore excellent communication and relationship skills are essential.

You will be joining a small team of 4 other Technical Support Engineers in a company which holds its own staff as well as its customers at the forefront of everything they do.  This is a lovely environment to work in, just outside if Ipswich Town Centre with free parking (you will need a driving licence for this role).

You will mainly be office based but also take your turn on the rota for some out of hours’ time, (earliest 7am, latest 8pm) – this can be worked from home.  It can be quiet in these periods so you are able to use this time as paid study time to work towards qualifications which the client will fully support MS Certifications etc.

There are good prospects if you would like to take your tech career further, opportunities to develop are always available as well as supported qualifications and study time.

 

what we’re looking for.

We would like to see experience of working within a similar role, a year or so would be ideal.  You must be proficient in Microsoft desktop, server and cloud technologies, LAN & WAN networking technologies, Network security and server hardware.  Of course, an excellent telephone manner is a must as well as the ability to obtain the relevant information from customers to enable you to assist them effectively.
