polkadotfrog's dedicated IT team are currently recruiting for a leading client in Cambridge who are currently expanding an established and successful IT development team. As a Software Engineer, you will be working as part of a dedicated team developing IT solutions to support the services provided by the company. This is an interesting and challenging position where a person will take responsibility for development and support of IT web based software systems. We are looking for someone with good communications skills who can complete tasks efficiently, effectively, and on time. Microsoft Visual Studio will be used to develop web based applications using ASP.NET / VB.Net and Microsoft SQL Server.
You shall be required to contribute to the development of requirements and other design specifications and participate in design reviews. The successful candidate will typically be responsible for product implementation according to these requirement and design specifications. You shall be experienced coding, testing and troubleshooting programs and you will be required to liaise closely with the Test team to ensure that their work is fully tested at the User level.
Key Skills:
. Must have completed and passed a college/university computer science course which includes programming and database design.
. Expert knowledge of ASP.NET, VB.NET and Microsoft SQL Server.
. Expert knowledge of HTML, CSS and web page design.
. Expert knowledge of object orientation.
. Ability to communicate effectively in writing and speaking.
. Ability to work in a small team or by oneself.
. Ability to switch between multiple projects and tasks and keep track and report on status of each
